- Posts are meant to be timely.
- Posts are usually listed in reverse chronological order.
- Posts are also displayed in the RSS feed of the blog.
- You can control how many posts are displayed at one time.
- Bloggers can use the RSS feeds to deliver email broadcasts through services like Aweber or MailChimp.
- You can organize posts, using categories and tags, so that readers can access your post easier
- Posts are social, share your posts in social media networks like Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn etc.
- The URL for a post can include the publish date for example – http://blogname.wpsitename.com/2008/11/30/post-title/
Pages
- Examples of pages: Home, Contact Us, About, Privacy Policy, etc.
- Pages are hierarchical by nature. For example, you can have a sub pages within a page
- The URL for a page looks like this: http://blogname.wpsitename.com/page-title/
- Pages are static and usually are intended to house content long term
- Pages are not display by time and date
- Pages do not use tags or categories
- Pages can be displayed in the sidebar using the Pages widget
- Page templates can save you time and creates consistency
*There are no limist on the number of posts or pages that can be created.
